Is an up and coming fashion designer from Birmingham.

Over two days Sat 23d and Sun 24th July 011 she was filming a short fashion advert for her fashion collection.

On  the Sunday I was on set assistant and it was a privilege to be there.
We went over Birmingham City Centre from starting off on Broad street to New street to Cafe Rouge to near Birmingham Museum and fountains.

Her theme was Sex in the City .
Her model for Sunday was Jamila King.
There was an on-set make up artist who was fantasticccccc !
Also a "fly on the wall" videographer (Elijah Phillips) who is doing a documentary on Paulinah , a videographer (Paul Smith) who recorded the advert and a photographer.

While positioning around Birmingham people where stopping and looking because it isn't something you see everyday and taking pictures.

For the independent shops in Birmingham instead of the known big brands had their chance to SHINE.

The location was; Great Western Arcade in Birmingham City Centre.

The theme was; Garden Party.
With the green washed chairs and floral decor and a green catwalk!
What a transformation...

The show featured some great shops such as
Disorder, Breina, Autograph, Atoo, Aspecto, Prowler, Onu, Beadesaurus, Wysteria Lane, Silk Step, Sims Footwear, Sonique and Norton & Townsend. The dramatic hairstyling was provided by Benjamin Ryan Hair & Beauty.

V.I.P Edition MBC Show

23rd June 011.
The show every fashion student wants to be involved with whether it's from helping backstage to thier clothes actually being in the show.

Preperation-
I was told to come into college a few days before hand to choose with teachers the best models ont he day who carried the clothes off well and walked well and had a positive attitude at all times.
After we watched the playback of the show and names got selected I then rang them all to tell them the good news, those that couldn't make it due to work were devasted but those that could where delighted on the phone.Who wouldnt be?

Also the best designs from the collections where chosen.

The day of the show there was a transformation in fashion lab-millenium point. It was transformed from the classroom to a stunning catwalk with crystal clear chairs.

Show time with specifically invited guests arrived.Spotlights.Press all at the ready.

Another great success. Can't wait for next years show !

MBC Fashion Show 2011

So,here it was.Finally arrvied.
Show dates 13th and 14th June.
Students 1st,2nd and foundation years including myself (1st year) on their time on the course was making garements.
1st years each get from 1-3 selected of their garments they made throughout the year selected by the head of fashion to be put in the show.
As the second years and foundation specifically made a collection for their FMP (final major project) which would all be shown from topics they chose themselves from perfection to vibrant africa.

Every first year was allocated a job to support the show from model management to rail management to selling raffle tickets to doing the music for the show (pratically DJ) to design of the flipbook to helping 2nd and foundation students finish garments before the show date.

I was in model management with a friend of mine - Louissa. Our job was to find around 50 models for the show, from asking the Fashion course students to ask friends and relatives of a minimum of 2 to us standing in town asking people we think would suit the breif of height requirements etc. It wasnt the easiest of jobs but through the difficult times me and Louissa always rised above it and sorted all situations out even models not showing on show day!

A few days before show day we had fashion show rehearsals so the model knows how to walk and make sure the clothes fit and any alterations needed to be made or nude underwear had to be brought etc and rail management knew what clothes belonged on what rail. Busy Busy!
Show day arrived and students from ND fashion and Sutton Campus arrived to do make up and hair for the arrival of models. How Exciting! After the models arrived less then what was arranged,(more work for me and Louissa) they got straight on to getting them ready. We had full dress rehearsals on the day up until show times!

6:30 arrived and guests where seated ready for the show.this happended on both days but on day 2 there was two shows!

The shows was a success and was worth all the hard work.
